Hello!

I'm Sula, and I use she/her pronouns. I am a queer bi-racial (Filipino & German) cisgender woman. I have lived experience of an eating disorder and a passion for the creative process which led me to become a counselor at the intersection of eating disorder treatment and art therapy.

Together, let's harness the power of art, dismantle diet-culture, and guide you toward your goals!

My Story

I moved to Seattle in 2023 from Chicago, IL and grew up in rural Indiana. I have four years of experience working with people seeking support for eating disorders and body image. I have worked in residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care, and I have volunteered as a helpline operator, peer mentor, and support group leader at an eating disorder nonprofit organization.

I completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling and Art Therapy at Adler University in Chicago, IL in 2023. My coursework centered around counseling techniques for individuals, groups, and families and using the creative process to improve physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing with a social justice framework.

Some of my fondest memories growing up as a child was in art class, where I had the space to create. Making art is an activity where I lose myself and find myself at the same time—I’m so focused on what I’m doing and how I’m feeling that time no longer seems to exist. I’m able to be fully present. My hope is to invite others to connect with art and connect with themselves.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy finding wildflowers on nature walks, dancing to underground electronic music, taking naps with my Squishmallow, giving my cat forehead kisses, and treasure hunting at secondhand stores.

I'm excited to meet you!

Below are some images of my own artwork I've created in art therapy sessions as a client myself:
